I've learned that leaders are everyday people who behave the way leaders should. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Some leaders have impressive degrees and experience at high-profile companies, and some have no formal education their experience comes from parenting, housework, and hard knocks. Some leaders have never even had the title "leader" at all.

Here are some behaviors of people who are great leaders and who are, no doubt – first and foremost – great team players.

  5. Able to identify and encourage people's talents and guide them well enough to ensure the organization's future.

  7. Makes excellent decisions that demonstrate superb agility and a willingness to take calculated risks to get the best results.
  8. Easily make room for questions to be considered and emerging new ideas and alternatives to be evaluated by the team.
  9. Exceptionally well organized and can handle the complexities of keeping appointments, records, and assignments straight. Dedicated to staying on top of everything no matter how much is going on.
  10. Because they can work with people, she can accomplish quite a lot. In addition, they find what they do to be enjoyable and will share this with the rest of those with whom they work.
  11. Oriented to accomplishment and they will lead the others with a certain magnetism. People will likely sense this influence and respond to it without necessarily even realizing why.
